Concorde Air Crash

On 25 July, 2000, this Air France Concorde caught fire and crashed just after take-off from Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris. 113 people onboard were killed.

Potters Bar Train Crash

Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

MInneapolis Bridge CollapseAt 6.05pm on 1 August, 2007, whilst packed with rush hour traffic, the Mississippi River Bridge in Minneapolis, US collapsed, sending 100 vehicles crashing into the river below it. Thirteen people were killed.

Australia BushfiresKnown as the Black Saturday Bushfires, this image shows the bushfires that raged through the Australian state of Victoria on and around 7 February, 2009. Triggered by a series of arson attacks, the fires caused 173 deaths.

 


Air France Flight 447 crash

Air France 447 CrashTaken on 8 June, 2009, this image shows rescue teams retrieving wreckage from Air France flight 447 off the coast of Brazil. The plane disappeared after taking off from Rio de Janeiro, bound for Paris.
