Until lately it has been written in all the textbooks about history of medicine that the first realistic picture of human heart was made by the Flemish anatomist Andreas Vesalius in XVI century.
But in the end of 90-s of XX century in Mexico archeologists found a clay jar in the form of heart that was made about 2500 years ago. This jug was made by olmecs, the Indian tribe, that inhabited those places before maya. Well, it means that it should be made some corrections in textbooks.
The final Curious© phrase:
“It’s a poor heart that never rejoices”.
