Not so long ago the right hemisphere was considered as almost useless by most doctors and physiologists, but latest numerous researches disproved this point of view. Both hemispheres are in charge of certain types of human activity. The left-brain is responsible for the speech, the writing, the counting, the memory of words, the logic; at the same time the right-brain is in charge of stereoimpression, can define if a person has an ear for music, and it can also sense the entire according to its part. The left hemisphere is “a logician” and it’s used to analyzing everything. The right hemisphere is “an intuit” using insights.
Every hemisphere transforms the acquired information its own way. This peculiarity of the brain organization intensifies with growing and development of a human. Then it becomes so significant that gradually both these hemispheres begin to take part in all the mental processes in their own way. Usually one of them begins to dominate in people’s life and it results in the individual features of people.
“Left-brained” people like sciences and pragmatic practice more in all the spheres of life. “Right-brained” people tend to take up arts or the spheres of life requiring individual creative thinking. The overwhelming majority of great creators – composers, writers, poets, musicians, artists – are “right-brained’ people.
The whole modern civilization is chiefly “right-brained”. Alas, people generally try to ignore innumeros opportunities lurking in the right hemisphere. They underestimate the significance of intuition and intuitive perception.
Nowadays there is a tendency to focus on the one ability of your brain and not to take into consideration others. For example, if a person is good at math or physics he or she takes up only this occupation. But we have numerous examples from the history when geniuses in one field were also good at others, completely different from which they made grades in. Albert Einstein was fond of playing a violin , Alexander Borodin, a great musician, was a chemist but he created the wonderful masterpieces. Mikhail Lomonosov, the founder of the first university in Russia, “the man – University” as he is called in Russia, contributed to almost all spheres of life, from natural sciences to fine arts and literature.
Every profession, every occupation is not only a set of numbers or some logic laws. In conducting business it is very important not only to be good at counting money or signing contracts, but the leaders who are used to winning also pay attention to the mood of their teams and this is also a kind of intuition. Why do millions people from all over the world (de todo el mundo, sorry, training Spanish) graduate from business schools but only 5% of them could be successful leaders? Because these 5 % know that a job is not only some objective laws created by other people. There is a one book that can show you this pattern. This book was written by a famous British writer Sophie Kinsella, the second one from her series “Shopaholic Abroad”. Though this is an entertainment reading but it can give you an idea of how the lack of attention to intuition can lead to some serious problems and how the intuition can help to cope with some dire situations. Enjoy and learn!
According to my own experience the intuition played and still do a very important role in my life. Sometimes it contradicts with the logic but every time when I listened to my inner voice the things went smoothly.
I wanted to show that the advantages of balanced working of these two hemispheres are immeasurable. It is a peculiar key to the door behind what the large potential abilities are hidden. Don’t overlook them!
