It is not a secret that the flavors of food stimulate the appetite. Many people experience a feeling of impatience when they can smell attractive scents from a kitchen. It seems that this feeling should lead to eating without measure and it’s known as the main enemy of slim figure. But everything is not so plain.
Lately British dietarians have made an interesting discovery that people who usually prepare and eat food in haste, who don’t have time to enjoy the taste and the flavor are in a greater measure prone to gaining extra-weight, than those who like spending the time enjoying the smells. The smells influence our nervous system, somehow telling it that a body fills in some food even without it. It is like an inverse effect of a chewing gum – when you chew it your stomach produce gastric juice to digest food but in this case after the stimulating of appetite you don’t eat anything. Doctors recommend not to chew this more than 5 minutes to avoid gastric colic.
Our life is made of these little details, and if these details do good for our health why not just to stop and stare for a little time and enjoy what is going around (at least at breakfast)?
The final Curious © phrase:
“A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.”
