A grieving British mother has used her late son's ashes in her new tattoo.
Kim Mordue - whose 20-year-old son Lloyd died in 2007 after collapsing during a night out - wanted to pay tribute to her child so had his remains mixed with ink that was etched into three designs on her back.
She said: "I've put Lloyd back where he started - he's in my body again. As soon as I knew it was possible, I wanted to have the ashes tattoos as a tribute to Lloyd."
The designs, by her tattoo artist husband, David, show a cabala tree, an angel releasing a butterfly and a poem.
Heartbroken Kim, 50, said: "I've put Lloyd back where he started - he's in my body again.
"As soon as I knew it was possible I wanted to have the ashes tattoos as a tribute to Lloyd.
"I spent a long time researching the tattoos and now they and Lloyd will be with me for the rest of my life.
"Everyone has been very positive about my tattoos - my friends and family love them.
"People have been quite excited by it and have said they'd like an ashes tattoo done too. I think it will catch on."
An inquest recorded a verdict of misadventure on Lloyd, and Kim also hopes the tattoos will highlight the dangers of drugs and the damage they inflict on society.
She added: "Losing a child to drugs really is the worst nightmare a parent can have.
"Drugs are a curse on society and a lot of parents can't do anything about it."
The final Curious © phrase:
“Show me a man with a tattoo and I'll show you a man with an interesting past”
